Anemoi Marine Technologies has been awarded design assessment certificates by Bureau Veritas for multiple configurations of its Rotor Sail wind-assisted propulsion technology, further strengthening independent validation of its solutions.
The latest approvals cover the company’s fixed and rail-deployed 3.5m × 24.5m Rotor Sails, including explosion-proof (EX-rated) models and shorter versions designed for vessels with air draft restrictions. Applications for additional approvals covering fixed and folding 5m × 35m Rotor Sails are also underway.
With the new certifications, Anemoi’s full Rotor Sail portfolio is now covered by approvals from Bureau Veritas, Lloyd’s Register, DNV, ABS and ClassNK. The company said the certifications are expected to simplify the adoption of Rotor Sail technology for both newbuild and retrofit projects by reducing technical and regulatory barriers.
Anemoi added that its Rotor Sails are already operating on vessels classed by multiple classification societies, demonstrating the technology across different ship types and operating conditions.
According to the company, approvals from classification societies confirm that the technology meets recognised industry standards for safe manufacture, installation and operation, helping shipowners streamline deployment and reduce project risk.
