DeepOcean awarded contract by Equinor for marine operations for installation of the Vigdis Boostin Station.

The award to DeepOcean covers project management, engineering and offshore installation activities. The offshore work includes marine operations for rock removal, installation and tie-in of Subsea Lines and installation of Subsea Structures at the Vigdis and Snorre offshore fields. Various options for the Vigdis campaigns are also included.

The onshore project team will work out of DeepOcean’s offices in Haugesund, with offshore execution scheduled for 2020.

Facts:

  • The Vigdis field is located in the Tampen area in the North Sea in block 34/7 (PL089).
  • Equinor is operator with an interest of 41.5%. The other partners are Petoro AS (30 %), ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Norway (16.1%), Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS (9.6%) and DEA Norge AS (2.8%).
  • When the Vigdis field came on stream in 1997 recoverable resources were estimated at 200 million barrels of oil. The field has now produced 394 million barrels, and recoverable resources have been increased to 455 million barrels oil.
