Vessel suspected of illegal export of Ukrainian products from temporarily occupied territories.
A Swedish court has arrested the Caffa vessel, which is suspected of systematically exporting products from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to the investigation, Caffa systematically violated the procedure for entering and leaving the occupied territory. To hide its activities, a scheme with a false registration was used – in international databases the vessel is marked as Guinea False.
After the investigation, on March 12, 2026, the Prosecutor General’s Office turned to the Swedish Ministry of Justice with a request for international legal assistance – with a request to search the vessel, interrogate the captain and crew members and impose an arrest.
The Swedish side reacted promptly. The very next week after receiving the request, a search was conducted and witnesses were questioned. Today, the court approved the arrest of the vessel.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stressed that no manipulations with flags, routes, or registration will help avoid responsibility.
