On the morning of May 5, Russian forces attacked Odesa port in Ukraine with drones, damaging a foreign civilian vessel, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reports.
As noted, in the morning, the enemy struck the port of Greater Odesa. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel under the flag of the Cook Islands was damaged.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority clarified that the crew of the vessel was not injured.
“Another strike is aimed at civilian shipping. The port is operating, taking into account security risks, and specialized services are eliminating the consequences,” the administration said in a statement.
Russian forces systematically attack ports of the Odesa region with drones and missiles.
On the morning of April 14, Russians struck the port infrastructure of the Odesa region.
As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel under the flag of Liberia was hit, which was heading along the Ukrainian maritime corridor to one of the ports of Greater Odesa to load corn.
During the air raid alert, a drone hit the vessel that was en route to the port. Damage was recorded as a result of the strike.
On the night of April 8, Russian Shahed drones also massively attacked the south of the Odesa region. As a result of that attack, civilian and port infrastructure were damaged.
Before that, as a result of a drone strike, one of the region’s ports was damaged — two civilian vessels under the flags of Palau and Barbados were affected, and port infrastructure was destroyed. Fires broke out due to the attack.
