Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) has held the naming ceremony of OOCL Wisdom, the Company’s first methanol dual‑fuel container vessel and the first of a series of seven vessels.
The naming ceremony was held at the shipyard of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (“NACKS”). Ms. Cao Yanping, Director of Fujian Yaohua Industrial Village Development Co., Ltd., named OOCL Wisdom and bestowed her blessings upon the vessel in the presence of many guests at the ceremony.
With a maximum capacity of 24,168 TEU, OOCL Wisdom is currently the world’s largest methanol dual‑fuel container vessel. All main engines, auxiliary engines and boilers are equipped with methanol dual‑fuel systems, and the vessel integrates advanced energy‑efficiency management, intelligent monitoring and safety assurance systems, combining green environmental performance, digital intelligence and high energy efficiency. The delivery of the vessel marks a new milestone in technological innovation and low‑carbon development for OOCL’s fleet.
