On the Russian Project 20380 missile corvette Boikiy, the mast fell and the superstructure burned down. The ship will likely undergo long-term repairs or be decommissioned.
Footage published by the Dossye Shpiona Telegram channel shows a massive fire on the corvette. One fatality has also been reported.
The ship’s superstructure is the structure above the upper deck that houses the navigation bridge, combat stations, communication systems, and radars; damage to these systems could completely deprive the ship of control and combat capability.
The mast houses antennas for radar stations (RCS) for detecting air and surface targets, communication antennas, navigation lights, as well as sensors for the “friend or foe” identification system. On this corvette, these include, in particular, the Furke-2 general-purpose radar and the Monument-A missile targeting radar.
On the morning of June 3, Ukrainian drones struck a Russian missile corvette at the Kronstadt Naval Base in St. Petersburg. At the time of the attack, it was in the Veleschinsky Dry Dock. In Liutyi 2026, the ship entered dry dock for scheduled maintenance.
Video footage shows that the Russian corvette was struck by at least two Ukrainian strike drones. A fire subsequently broke out on the ship, and smoke from the blaze was visible from several kilometers away by local residents who witnessed the morning strike.
