Corvus Energy will supply 40 MWh of battery capacity for four new hybrid-electric ferries being built for BC Ferries, with the vessels designed for a future transition to near-zero-emission, all-electric operation.
The Panama Canal Authority ordered ten hybrid tractor tugboats from European shipbuilder, Astilleros Armón, with options for another 10 similar vessels, and Corvus Energy will supply the battery systems for the hybrid-electric vessels.
Fairplay Towage Group has placed an order with Damen Shipyards for the delivery of two further tugboats, one of which is of the ASD Tug 2813 design, the other one being a tug fitted with azimuth stern drives and a bollard pull of 60 tonnes.
