Fincantieri and Princess Cruises, one of the premiere cruise lines in the world, have celebrated the delivery of Star Princess, the second LNG-powered (liquefied natural gas) cruise ship in Princess Cruises’ Sphere Class, at the Monfalcone shipyard.

Under the agreement, Fincantieri and PGZ will explore joint opportunities in the design, construction, and through-life support of advanced naval platforms, including submarines.

The ship is scheduled to debut in spring 2026, offering itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

The systems developed will be deployed in naval and land-based solutions, contributing to the decarbonization of transport and industry.

Celebrated at the Sestri Ponente shipyard were the launching of Explora III, the coin ceremony for Explora IV, and the steel cutting for Explora V

“Viking Vesta”, the second of a new series of cruise ships that Fincantieri is building for the shipowner Viking, has been delivered at the Ancona shipyard.

The two vessels will replace those earmarked for Indonesia
