Learnmarine has officially launched NavSimulator V 2.0, an advanced ship-handling training tool designed to enhance maritime skills through realistic simulations.
The system allows immersive and realistic training, integrating 3D models, digital technical manuals, and operating procedures to support the Navy’s work in delicate and complex scenarios and missions.
Technology group Wärtsilä has supplied its new dual-fuel engine simulator technology for Wavelink Maritime Institute (WMI), the maritime training arm of the Singapore Maritime Officer's Union (SMOU).
The scope includes two full mission navigational bridge simulators with 360-degree visualisation, state-of-the art offshore specific bridge systems, and the first installation of Wärtsilä’s new simulation bridge equipment configuration
The initiative, developed in collaboration with the ELIS consortium, aims to train and recruit shipbuilding personnel to address the shortage of specialized labor
Targeting technical personnel and workboat crews, the training programmes impart essential skills for manoeuvring, crew supply, and maintenance in offshore wind parks.
The contract with Kongsberg will help create a training centre of excellence for the deployment of Svitzer’s innovative, new TRAnsverse tug vessels; entering service in Newcastle in early 2025.
This partnership aims to make critical safety training more accessible, convenient, and efficient for crews, increasing the number of seafarers receiving such training.
