Baltic Towers to supply offshore wind towers for Baltica 2

Published:

Baltic Towers has signed a new cooperation agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for supply of the largest batch of towers for the Baltica 2 offshore wind project.

Baltica 2 is the largest offshore wind project in Poland jointly developed by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted. The project will be capable of delivering green electricity to approximately 2.5 million consumers—including households, hospitals, schools, public institutions, and businesses. As one of the largest renewable energy developments in the Baltic Sea, Baltica 2 will play a significant role in accelerating Poland’s energy transition, with first power expected in 2027.

Located in Gdańsk, Poland, Baltic Towers specializes in manufacturing offshore wind towers built for the most demanding marine environments, the factory represents a strategic €200 million industrial investment that reinforces Europe’s energy transition and strengthens Poland’s position as a growing offshore wind manufacturing hub.

Jakub Wnuczyński Baltic Towers CEO, Member of the Management Board, said:

”We are fully prepared to deliver towers for today’s largest offshore wind turbines and are ready to scale for next-generation turbines as they enter the market. We are proud that Baltic Towers will serve as a supplier for a project located in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea, where we hold significant logistical advantages for both the Polish market and the entire Baltic region, effectively minimizing execution and supply-chain risks for offshore projects developed in this area. By building our manufacturing base in Gdańsk, Poland, we are developing long-term competencies and know-how to establish Baltic Towers as a key offshore wind tower supplier in Europe.”

Grzegorz Należyty, Managing Director of Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Poland, said:

“By securing tower manufacturing capacity here in Poland, Siemens Gamesa is strengthening its commitment to working closely with local and regional partners on significant offshore wind investments. This new partnership with Baltic Towers underscores our dedication to the continued expansion of offshore wind projects across Europe.”

Ulrik Lange, Vice President and Managing Director of the Baltica 2 project at Ørsted, said:

“Ørsted is driving the offshore construction of Baltica 2 through a tightly coordinated sequence of technical interfaces — from foundations to towers, turbines, and commissioning. The tower, as a key load‑bearing interface, must be delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and traceability to secure reliable offshore operations. We are pleased to see a Polish company delivering such an important turbine component, reflecting the strong readiness of the Polish offshore wind market. Turbine installation for Baltica 2 is planned to begin in Q2 2027”.

Dariusz Lubera, CEO of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna said:

“Offshore wind energy projects demand the highest levels of quality and precision. The participation of Baltic Towers in supplying the towers—fundamental structural elements of offshore wind turbines—serves as clear confirmation that their Gdańsk facility meets the most stringent international standards and is fully capable of competing with leading global suppliers.”

Baltic Towers was created as a joint initiative between Industrial Development Agency JSC (ARP) and GRI Renewable Industries, S.L. The project brings together the Industrial Development Agency’s investment capabilities and access to well-located industrial land with GRI’s extensive know-how and global manufacturing footprint in the renewable energy sector.
