This energy saving technology is increasingly being sought after by ship owners and operators as a cost-effective and immediate solution to reduce the carbon emissions
Norsepower and Swedish shipowner Stena Line have signed an agreement for the delivery of two Norsepower Rotor Sails™ on an all-new methanol hybrid newbuild RoRo vessel.
Together, the two companies are delivering innovative energy efficiency solutions for merchant vessels, reducing fuel consumption, minimising carbon emissions, and accurately measuring the savings enabled by Norsepower Rotor Sails™.
The vessel is expected to achieve about 6-10% fuel and GHG emissions reductions on the Brazil to Far East routes, combined with voyage optimization technology.
The new low-emission vessels, which will be used to ship aircraft components for Airbus, will each be powered by a combination of six 35-meter tall Norsepower Rotor Sails
New agreement between cleantech and maritime software leaders will use voyage optimisation tools to help wind-assisted vessels in their voyage planning to boost fuel savings and emissions reductions
