SolarDuck and the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) have been awarded a €3.2 million subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for the Steady Seas research programme.
The project forms part of the Philippines' broader effort to expand renewable energy generation and increase the share of renewables in the country's power mix to 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2040.
These facilities in the Mediterranean are the first floating offshore wind farms to be deployed in France, each using different innovative technologies.
