Argeo Robotics AS has been granted a patent from the Norwegian Industrial Patent office (Patentstyret) for a subsea electromagnetic remote-sensing system.
It is the first platform in Africa to be decommissioned in a project led by environmental quality services company, EQS, with a Saab Seaeye Falcon underwater robot deployed for the task.
The 12-member mission team will conduct daily dives from 100 m to at least 500 m deep in two Triton submersibles to document the seafloor and fish communities at three locations in the archipelago.
