GONDAN has completed the delivery of the Juan Jorge R., a new GRP passenger ferry built for the Canary Islands-based shipping company Líneas Romero.
Measuring 31.1 metres in length, 10.5 metres in beam and with a capacity for 360 passengers, the vessel is fitted with two 1,400 CV engines and has been designed to reach speeds of up to 20 knots. The use of GRP reduces the vessel’s weight, improves its energy efficiency and optimises the hull’s performance whilst underway.
Its configuration meets the specific requirements of the Canary Islands’ maritime routes, combining robustness, manoeuvrability, stability and comfort for passengers and crew.
The Juan Jorge R. is the fourth ferry built by GONDAN for Líneas Romero, following the Don Juan R., the Alexandro R. and the Luis R. This latest delivery consolidates a partnership spanning more than a decade between the two companies and reflects the Canarian shipping company’s continued confidence in the shipyard’s capabilities.
