Perdana Petroleum secures Petronas Carigali vessel contracts

Published:

Perdana Petroleum Berhad has secured two work orders from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd for the provision of anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd, received the contracts on April 8, 2026, involving the deployment of two AHTS vessels to support offshore operations.

The first vessel will be chartered for a period of 303 days, with an option to extend for an additional 40 days, while the second vessel will be deployed for 224 days, also with a similar extension option.

Under the contracts, the vessels will be equipped with crew and necessary equipment to provide round-the-clock services, including supporting drilling rigs, offshore installations, towing operations and anchor handling activities.

The contract value has not been disclosed, as it will depend on the work orders issued throughout the charter period.

Perdana Petroleum said the contracts are expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial years ending December 31, 2026 and 2027.

The company added that the contracts do not have any impact on its share capital or shareholding structure, and are not subject to shareholder or regulatory approvals.

The board said the awards are in the best interest of the group, noting that the associated risks are within normal operational parameters and can be managed through existing project controls.

The latest contract wins reinforce ongoing offshore activity by Petronas, as Malaysia’s upstream oil and gas sector continues to see steady demand for support vessels and services.
