COSCO Shipping Lines enhances Trans-Atlantic services

Published:

COSCO Shipping Lines has announced the launch of enhanced service offerings on its Trans-Atlantic routes, specifically covering the Mediterranean Sea.

Starting in February 2025, COSCO`s two existing services – the Mediterranean to North America Service (MENA) and the East Mediterranean to North America Service (EMA) – will undergo significant upgrades.

This service enhancement will enable COSCO Shipping Lines to offer comprehensive, reliable, and competitive transportation solutions between the Mediterranean and North America. The upgraded services are designed to improve connectivity and provide enhanced coverage, connecting 14 key ports across the regions.

One of the key highlights of this service upgrade is the introduction of a weekly direct call at Salerno on the MENA service. This addition will expand port coverage in Italy while offering faster transit times. Vessels from Salerno will reach New York in just 21 days.

Furthermore, the East Mediterranean Service (EMA) will provide extensive port coverage through transshipment in Piraeus, utilizing our own feeder network to serve key ports in Romania, Egypt, Turkey, North Africa and the Adriatic Coast.

The port rotations for the two newly enhanced services are as follows:

  • MENA – Mediterranean to North Atlantic East Coast Service
  • Salerno → La Spezia → Genoa → Vado Ligure → Valencia → Algeciras → New York → Norfolk → Savannah → Miami → Algeciras → Salerno
