Aker BP, the operator of production licences 873, 873 B and 1249, has concluded its Omega Alfa exploration campaign in the area around Yggdrasil in the North Sea.
The project concluded in 2025 with the Saipem Constellation executing the installation of flexible risers, umbilicals, and the connection of the pre-laid rigid riser to the FPSO.
The First Steel Cutting ceremony took place at Saipem’s Karimun fabrication yard, marking the official start of construction activities for the Tangguh UCC project, awarded by bp Indonesia.
Saipem, together with the other companies in the consortium, will undertake the review and specification definition of the offshore production facilities.
The Johan Castberg field will be producing oil for many years to come, and new discoveries can be incorporated. The field is important for further development in the Barents Sea.
