On September 12 2023, Japan Suiso Energy and three Japanese shipping companies, “K” LINE, MOL, and NYK, have agreed to join JSE Ocean, a subsidiary of JSE.
"This initiative will drive emissions reductions across the world's largest ocean and lead to greener practices from supply chain participants along these vital trade routes."
The corridor was primarily meant to allow passage for ships stuck in the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa, and Pivdennyi since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The collaboration will leverage combined strengths to address the dual opportunities of the digital transformation and the decarbonization of shipping.
