Four 8,200 TEU container vessels, being built at undisclosed Asian based yard, will be fitted with Wärtsilä’s CCS-Ready 35MW scrubber in an open loop configuration.
The technology group Wärtsilä will supply the main propulsion machinery, as well as a range of other equipment and systems for two new 110-metre long amphibious transport vessels being built for the Chilean Navy.
The aim of the project is to boost maritime sustainability by preventing plastics from harming the environment, and since plastics are formed from fossil fuels, to also lower CO2 emissions.
The technology group Wärtsilä has successfully retrofitted an inline shaft generator system on the ‘Berge Toubkal’, a cape-size bulk carrier owned by Singapore-based Berge Bulk.
