The Australian Government has announced that it has granted a feasibility licence for Ørsted’s first offshore wind project in Australia and intends to grant a licence for a second project, subject to consultation.
With a total installed capacity of 900 MW, the two offshore wind farms are in operation and fully connected to the grid, making them the largest of their kind in Taiwan and in the Asia-Pacific region.
This agreement involves booking a new-built A-Class vessel from Cadeler. The A-Class vessels feature a hybrid design, allowing them to transport and install both foundations and turbines (WTGs).
Selection will help advance Ørsted’s e-methanol facility in Texas, decarbonize hard-to-electrify maritime sector, and create U.S. clean energy jobs in new industry
The aim of the agreement is to establish a successful local wind power industry driven by Ørsted's 1.6 GW offshore wind project off the coast of Incheon.
Ørsted has signed an agreement with Eversource to acquire Eversource’s 50 percent share of Sunrise Wind, a 924 MW offshore wind farm which would deliver power to New York.
