Equinor and its partners Vår Energi and Aker BP have drilled a dry well about 130 kilometres west of Florø.

The Rovins 9-DVL will be integrated into DOS’ XL Mariner work-class ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), built by Argus in Norway.

The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in Lower Jurassic reservoir rocks in the Cook Formation and the Statfjord group.

LNG will be supplied from Woodside’s global portfolio, which may include volumes from the recently approved Louisiana LNG project in the United States.
