The agreement includes operating services in the Canary Islands, the Alboran Sea and part of the Strait of Gibraltar, managing 15 ferries and adding 1,500 new employees to the group.
Port Taranaki is now playing a key role in helping strengthen New Zealand’s ability to monitor and respond to tsunami threats and, ultimately, help protect the public.
It was launched on June 14, 2022. In October-November 2023, it was transported via Russia’s inland waterways to the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg for completion.
