During the project, Van Oord, in cooperation with ZEDHub, Smart Delta Drechtsteden, the Municipality of Dordrecht and Port of Rotterdam, assessed the potential of a fully electric dredging operation.
Van Oord’s heavy lift installation vessel Svanen has successfully installed the first monopile at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, located 23 kilometres north of the Polish coast.
This fully electrified vessel runs and operates emission-free, which is a first in the dredging industry. The results of the pilot project offer valuable insights that will help the industry operate completely emission-free in the future.
Van Oord has been contracted by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to install inter-array cables for the Fengmiao 1 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The brand new offshore installation vessel Boreas has successfully been handed over to Van Oord during a festive ceremony at the Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd. shipyard in China.
Dredging work in the Prinses Amaliahaven on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam has been successfully completed. The harbour basin has been deepened to 20 metres below sea level.
Offshore wind farms provide hard substrate and undisturbed seabed, making them highly suitable locations for restoring the flat oyster population in the North Sea.
