MBARI’s advanced underwater vehicles gather important data about our changing ocean

THE Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has kicked off the process of repurposing three ports to service the nascent offshore wind (OSW) industry, according to the Department of Energy (DoE).

Principle Power has unveiled two new semisubmersible floating wind foundation designs: the WindFloat TC (tubular, center column) and WindFloat FC (flat-panel, center column).

The value of the contract is approximately 2 billion USD.

The floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) is now securely anchored on the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea.

Combined, the winds farms are expected to generate an annual production of 1.5 TWh fossil-free electricity, equal the consumption of 350,000 households.

The contract value amounts to approximately 4 billion USD.

On Saturday, 7 September, Troll B and C became partly powered from shore. This reduces annual emissions from the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) by 250,000 tonnes of CO2.

XolarSurf represents a new frontier in the floating solar segment, capable of being installed in any coastal or offshore location, even under harsh environmental conditions.

In total, Jumbo Javelin transported and installed 80 TPs during the project.
