Aker Solutions and Cognite have been awarded a USD 2 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for a project called NextWind Real Time Condition Monitoring.
Of current interest for the Group is the leading R&D role ENGIE is taking, with technical support from ENGIE Laborelec, looking into the potential future of kite flying to accelerate the energy transition.
This may represent a better design concept for bulk hydrogen production as opposed to, for instance, remotely located electrolysers at a terminal or platform, away from the wind turbine generator, due to reduced costs and energy losses.
