NKT has signed the order for the power cable system for the Polish offshore wind project Baltic Power. The project is important for the transition to renewable energy in Poland and the national ambitions of up to 11 GW offshore wind installed by 2040.

The Dogger Bank offshore wind farm will be the world’s largest and the first high-voltage DC connected wind farm in the UK.

The NordLink power cable system is now in operation enabling efficient exchange of renewable energy between Norway and Germany.

To meet the growing demand for power cables in the offshore industry NKT increases its capacity to transport and storage offshore power cables from its German factory in Cologne.

The Baltic Cable - a 250 km long power cable - interconnects the power grids of Sweden and Germany since 1994. At the end of April 2020, a cable section was damaged due to external impact.
