NKT has signed the order for the power cable system for the Polish offshore wind project Baltic Power. The project is important for the transition to renewable energy in Poland and the national ambitions of up to 11 GW offshore wind installed by 2040.
NKT has been awarded a contract for the Troll West electrification project of approx. EUR 95m (approx. DKK 710m) by Equinor Energy AS on behalf of the Troll Unit.
Elia Asset SA, 50Hertz Transmission GmbH and Nemo Link Ltd. each have awarded NKT a 5-year service contract for service works on their offshore assets.
NKT was awarded the order to repair two interconnectors between Denmark and Norway. The operation has been successfully completed and the power cables Skagerrak 1 and 2 are now back in operation.
To meet the growing demand for power cables in the offshore industry NKT increases its capacity to transport and storage offshore power cables from its German factory in Cologne.
The Baltic Cable - a 250 km long power cable - interconnects the power grids of Sweden and Germany since 1994. At the end of April 2020, a cable section was damaged due to external impact.
