At the Naval Support and Experimentation Center of La Spezia, Fincantieri launched its first “DEEP” underwater drone system during a demonstration mission.
The Defense Intelligence units are already effectively using the previously donated T12 boats to patrol water areas and conduct special operations, including in temporarily occupied territories.
A key advantage of the new systems is their software-defined architecture, which allows scaling the platforms’ functionality and adapting them to tasks of varying complexity.
Under the agreement, Fincantieri and PGZ will explore joint opportunities in the design, construction, and through-life support of advanced naval platforms, including submarines.
