TenneT, in collaboration with contractor Equans/Smulders, has placed several artificial reefs near the offshore transformer platform Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) to gain further knowledge about nature-inclusive construction.

This will be the most ecological wind farm yet, with minimal impact on the natural habitat of birds, bats and marine mammals, and with a thriving underwater world.

The renewable power for the electrolyser will come from the offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust (noord), which is partly owned by Shell.

The wind farm and the grid connection are scheduled to be operational in 2023

DEME Offshore has been awarded a contract for the Transport & Installation of the jackets and topsides for two Hollandse Kust offshore substations.

Van Oord’s Deep Dig-It trencher crossed the busy shipping route Rotterdam Maasmond successfully and is on its way to offshore Alpha jacket in the Hollandse Kust (zuid) wind farm area.

Van Oord will deploy its offshore installation vessels Aeolus, MPI Adventure and MPI Resolution and cable-laying vessel Nexus.
