BC Ferries currently has a contract with Damen Shipyards Group for the build and delivery of four Damen Road Ferries 8117 E3 design—known by BC Ferries as “Island Class” vessels.
Cemre Shipyard has announced the departure of NB1091 Hinnøy, Norway’s largest zero-emission ferry, built for Torghatten Nord, as she sets sail toward her new home in the northern waters of Norway.
The route that the ferry will serve – between Norddeich and the island of Norderney on the East Frisian coast – called for the development of a unique vessel.
Austal Australasia has been awarded a contract valued between A$265 and A$275 million by Gotlandsbolaget of Sweden, for the design and construction of a 130-metre combined cycle, ‘hydrogen-ready’ vehicle passenger ferry.
