On 25 March 2021, Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) launched the first of three Multi Mission Inshore Patrol Vessels (MMIPV) procured by ARMSCOR for the South African Navy (SAN).
The client was looking for the latest in tug technology and will operate the vessels on the River Seine in the port between the Ports of Rouen and Honfleur (HAROPA – Port de Rouen).
In addition to installing the autonomous-command and wireless-helm systems, Damen will train users to operate Sea Machines systems via the company’s in-house simulator.
