SeaRoc will provide its SeaPlanner marine management system to support construction of the 120MW second phase of the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.
The deal is part of SeaRoc's strategic partnership with Specialist Marine Consultants, which is contracted to deliver marine coordination services for the project.
SMC will be responsible for managing all operational marine coordination activities during construction.
SeaPlanner will be used to manage the safety and efficiency of the work, including inductions and management of personnel, tracking of vessels, assets and people, controlling access restrictions, risk assessment/method statement management, permit to work and transfer of control.
Local communications specialise MDS will also provide assistance to SeaRoc and SMC.
SeaPlanner managing director Steve Pears said: “SeaPlanner is currently employed on a significant percentage of the world’s offshore wind turbines and we are pleased to extend our coverage and support SMC on this milestone project, representing the first formal marine coordination contract undertaken in Taiwan.”
