Ceremonies and celebrations were recently held in Vancouver harbour for a pair of ElectRA 2300-SX battery electric tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd. and built by Türkiye’s Sanmar Shipyards.
The cutting-edge vessel with a deadweight of 12,500 metric tonnes, is designed to replace two older vessels, while maintaining the same cargo capacity.
The Incat Crowther 25, built by Thai shipbuilder Seacrest Marine, will be used by the DMCR to patrol Thailand’s coastal environments and monitor the nation’s fisheries and marine resources.
This vessel will transport and lay various types of subsea cables, including cable bundles, as well as handle recovery and repair operations for Nexans Marine Operations AS in Norway.
