Foundations for one of the world’s only large-scale mooring line test rigs will soon be laid at the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s Floating Wind Innovation Centre in Aberdeen.
The project is set to become the largest offshore wind farm in the country and plays a pivotal role in Korea’s transition to net-zero emissions by 2050.
Offshore wind developer Ørsted says it will reduce its work force by 25 percent by the end of 2027, foreseeing a decline in new construction activities and a need to refocus on markets in Europe and Asia.
