Acteon delivers first MHU4400S hammer to Heerema

Published:

Menck, the marine foundations division of Acteon, has provided the first of two hydraulic hammer systems to Heerema Marine Contractors as part of a contract worth several million pounds.

The hammers come equipped with global navigation satellite systems and noise reduction units that make the transport and installation of offshore energy foundations a more ecologically safe process.

Both firms said this contract builds on a long-standing collaboration between the two and further solidifies Heerema’s position as a reliable project partner in the European wind market.

Jochem Scherpenisse, EVP of marine foundations at Acteon, said: “This agreement strengthens our collaboration with Heerema and supports their ability to deliver complex offshore projects efficiently and with reduced environmental impact.”

Jeroen van Oosten, chief commercial officer at Heerema, added: “By adding the MHU4400S hammer systems, we are strengthening our fleet’s capabilities, ensuring we can serve our clients in the most demanding offshore projects.”

The delivery of the second hammer system is slated for October 2027, aligning with Heerema’s “phased operational planning”.
